A few years ago I and my wife were planning a family vacation with the kids. We had gone on quite a few vacations, and were really tired of overcrowded hotels, state parks, etc. We were looking for something new and something where we could have a lot more freedom when it came to our trip. After a week or so of searching for ideas, a friend of ours suggested that we Rent A Recreational Vehicle. We had never considered a motor home rental before, and we were honestly quite excited.
We started searching out dealers who rented RVs; we even stopped at a few. However, most dealers we went to were over priced and did not have anything close to friendly service. We were one a one way ticket to repetition, or so it seemed. It all changed when we stopped by Johnston's RV Country. They were a huge help in figuring out just the right type of RV. They explained the difference between a Class A Motor home and a Class B, Helped us figure out insurance for the trip, and even took time to familiarize us with the RV before we left on our trip. A few years and many trips later, they are still the only place I'll ever consider going.
We've gone to so many places. That First trip was a trip to the New York Adirondacks, the next year we went to Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Florida is a wonderful place to take the family. We went to Florida Bay with the kids and there was so much to do there. One really nice thing about a motorhome, you have all the comforts of home. Privacy, your own bathroom, you can sleep in the same bed every night on vacation, and wherever you go you still have your home away from home with you.
There are many types to choose from when you rent. You have the option of trailer campers, but you'll need a vehicle to tow it. A class C or class B is medium to small size RVs built on a van or truck frame. The massive Class A is what you see so many retired folks driving back and forth to Florida. These huge Homes on wheels truly offer all the comforts. To buy one would costs a couple hundred dollars but to rent one is but a small fraction of a monthly payment on one.
